Transportation Services
With
the completion of the Fort McHenry Tunnel in 1985, Interstate 95 was brought
to Rukert Terminals front door. Over 250 Long-Haul Truckers serving the Port
of Baltimore enjoy immediate access to I-95 just blocks from Rukert Terminals
at the foot of Clinton Street. Easily accessible in either direction from
I-95, the Baltimore Beltway, I-695, connects with major interstates heading
north, south, east, and west.
Containers which discharge at one of the Ports' container berths are easily accessible to Rukert's Fast Freight, our trucking arm. Rukert's Fast Freight keeps abreast of all new inbounds through the Port of Baltimore's extensive agency and brokerage network. Containers are routed to our warehouse usually within a day of discharging. Call Mr. Scott Damasiewicz at 410-522-4599 for more information.

Baltimore's main shipping channel has recently been dredged from 42 to 50 feet allowing deeper draft vessels to call. Located north of Baltimore, the C&D Canal connects the Delaware and Chesapeake Bays and serves as a shortcut for vessels between the port and points north.
Excellent rail service is provided by Norfolk Southern, serving Rukert's
many spurs from its Bayview Yard. Cars are shifted twice daily.
